Admissions:
We are now taking expressions of interest from prospective families who may be interested in a place from September 2025 onwards.
Pupils attending Leith Hill School will generally have greater needs than most of their mainstream peers and require specific support with their social and emotional development, mental and physical wellbeing.

Upon admission, pupils will be aged between 7 years old (Year 3) and 14 years old (Year 9). Admissions for pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 will be available in 2026-27 and 2027-28 respectively.

Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan, or are likely to be engaged with their Local Authority and in the process of having one written. The plan is likely to specify an underlying diagnosis of autism and/or social communication challenges. It is likely to specify that the pupil would benefit from individual and/or small group therapeutic interventions to support their primary and co-occurring needs.
Pupils will usually have been assessed as working within age-related expectations of educational functioning, but due to prior disaffection with previous educational settings are likely to have gaps in their former education.

The school will provide education and holistic therapeutic support for children who may experience difficulties regulating their emotional and social presentations, encounter frequent bouts of anxiety and/or general poor mental wellbeing, be likely to find it a challenge to make and maintain appropriate and healthy relationships, and/or struggle to engage in effective communications and to regulate their feelings.

Young people can develop social, emotional and mental wellbeing needs for many reasons. Sometimes these are related to an underlying needs such as:
➢ Autism spectrum condition
➢ Attention deficit hyperactivity or attention difficulties
➢ Impaired relationships and attachments
➢ Socialisation and Communication challenges, which impact upon wellbeing and resilience.
