Heads on the move…

New Headteachers appointed for two Cavendish Education schools from September 2019.

Miss Clare King will leave The Moat School in Fulham at the end of the Summer Term 2019.

Headteacher since  2013, her successes include leading the school to win a prestigious TES Independent School Award, opening a Lower School catering for children aged 9 years old and upwards, and completing the transition to the Cavendish Education Group in September 2017.

We’d like to thank her wholeheartedly for all her efforts and acknowledge the many happy and productive years that she has spent as part of and leading The Moat family.

Mr Koen Claeys  has been appointed as  Miss King’s successor and will take up the Headship of The Moat School from September 2019.

Mr Claeys has been Headteacher at Bredon School in Gloucestershire for the last three years and has made a significant contribution during this time. We are incredibly grateful for all his hard work.

This academic year alone, he secured ‘Excellent’ gradings in all categories in the ISI Integrated Inspection and last year led the school through a successful CReSTeD re-inspection, securing the ongoing classification of ‘dyslexia specialist provider’. Most recently Bredon was named as the number one school in the UK for ‘value added’ scores at Post-16.

Mr Claeys looks forward to joining the Moat community and in leading the school’s expansion in future years.

As a result of Mr Claeys’ departure, Cavendish Education has appointed Mr Nick Oldham as the new Headteacher of Bredon School, with effect from September 2019.

Mr Oldham is currently Deputy Principal at West Heath School in Kent.

A highly qualified senior leader, he has a strong understanding of the qualities and potential of Bredon pupils and has expertise in both boarding and day schooling.

A keen advocate of Learning outside the Classroom, Mr Oldham is excited by the opportunities that Bredon’s farm, forest school, and various outdoor adventure activities affords pupils.  Mr Oldham said, “It is an exciting time to be taking the helm at Bredon as we increase pupil numbers and further enhance our specialist provision.”
