“Cavendish Presents” is the name given to a series of talks, workshops and Q&A Panels hosted by Cavendish Education and suitable for education professionals, parents, staff and the wider community. Our purpose is to give a greater understanding of various topics associated with specialist education and unique learning profiles.

Sleep issues in Autism: facts and possibilities.
Autism specialist and Research Fellow Georgia Pavlopoulou returns with her research colleague Dagmara Dimitriou to present their findings from the UCL Lifespan Learning & Sleep Lab study: Novel approaches to study sleep issues in Autism. This talk is designed to offer support and insight to families struggling with this very real issue.
Biography: Georgia has spent the last 17 years working closely with individuals with complex needs and their families. Her experience is cross sector; clinical and home therapy settings, universities, schools, NHS and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Greece and UK. Currently she is Module Leader at Psychology in Education Master program at UCL IOE and supervises postgraduate research in family-centred programmes in Autism Spectrum Conditions and family empowerment. Georgia also has a special interest in applications of mindfulness and acceptance based interventions in the family and school environment and the psychodynamic complexity of teaching and learning as emotional and ethical beings.
